Good Evening Little Cat Families.  We hope you have had a great weekend. We have a shout out for Mrs. Martinez’s kindergarten class.  They won the attendance trophy for the best attendance in Kindergarten during the month of January!  Great job! Keep up the great work! Attendance matters! There will be a student council meeting after school on Monday for student council members.  Also, Kindergarten and 1st-grade basketball practice will be held after school on Monday. Destination Imagination also has practice on Monday. 2nd & 3rd-grade practice will be held on Tuesday.  4th & 5th will practice on Wednesday and games will be held on Thursday. Student Council is sponsoring a coin drive as part of the Random Acts of Kindness month. They are raising money in support of Shield 616 which is a local organization that is working to ensure that all first responders in Pueblo have protective gear.  The coin drive will run February 4th, 5th, and 6th. Coins will be collected in classrooms. Student Council also sen home a scholar and family kindness challenge. Please work together with your child to complete their random acts of kindness. When they have completed an act of kindness, simply initial in the box. Once they complete all the acts of kindness, they can return their paper to Mrs. Stodard or Ms. Faris for a small treat! We want to take a moment to remind families of the importance of attendance. We need all of our scholars at school every day so that they have the best opportunity to learn!  If your child is ill, make sure that you call the office before nine a.m. to excuse them. Scholars that have more than 4 unexcused absences or a total of ten absences in a school year may be considered truant. At the elementary level, scholars with truancy issues are at a greater risk of not graduating. Please help your children establish the skills and behaviors that they will need to graduate and be ready for college and or careers in their future. School starts at 7:45 and releases at 3:10. Scholars should not arrive before 7:35. Please make sure that scholars are not dropped off before 7:35. We do require that all scholars go home after school.  Scholars should not immediately return to play on school grounds unless they are with a parent or adult caregiver. There is no supervision by school staff after 3:20 unless scholars are participating in a school-sponsored activity such as DI, basketball, and Student Council. We look forward to seeing all of our scholars at school this week! Have a wonderful week!
