Weekly Update

posted Dec 9, 2018, 8:23 AM by Melissa Patterson
Good evening Lil’ Cat Families.  This is Principal Patterson calling with a weekly update.  We would like to shout out our 5th grade scholars, their teachers and Mrs. Mullis for completion of the Heroes project.  The paintings and writing has been mailed and is on its way to New York for the first of many exhibits.  The 5th graders artwork will travel to several cities in the United States and then it will make its way over to India and back to Pueblo where we will have an exhibit with all of the artwork and writings from across the globe.  We will let you know when we have this event scheduled.  Tuesday is our Parent Teacher Organization meeting at 3:20.  We need your help.  We will be filling paper gingerbread houses with candy and a pencil to give out to our scholars next week.  Please come and help us get these filled.  We will also discuss carnival.  If you know of someone willing to make a donation to the carnival, please come and share their information.  We will need donated candy, small prizes, soda, cupcakes and cakes for the cake walk and more.  There are only 8 days of school before winter break and every moment matters.  Please make sure that your kiddos are at school and on time every day!  Also, in support of your scholars, please make sure that they are reading every day and working on their math facts.  These are fluency activities that can be done at home and they are critical to the success of our kids.  Don’t forget to check out our school website for activities on sight words and for information on upcoming events.  Thank you for partnering with us!  We appreciate all of our scholars and families, and we look forward to continuing to serve our Minnequa Community.
